Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE)
The Agency for Science and Higher Education is an independent public authority that conducts the external quality assurance in Croatia and is responsible for the accreditation of professional study courses and higher education institutions. Regular audit and evaluation is conducted.
The AHES accredits programmes offered by the private higher education institutions, school of professional higher education and polytechnics. Public university study programmes are self-accredited by the university senates. The public universities apply for public funds of the new accredited courses at the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
The ASHE is manages the activities of the Council of Polytechnics and Colleges, National Council for Higher Education, Council for financing Scientific Activity and Higher Education, 7 Scientific Field Committees, National Council for Science Ethics Committee in Science and Higher Education, 22 Area Councils and expert bodies.
National Council for Higher Education
The National Council for Higher Education is an advisory body of the Croatian Parliament. The National Council manages the development and quality of higher education in Croatia.
Croatian Rectors’ Conference (CRC)
The Croatian Rectors' Conference comprises of all public university rectors and handles the issues of common interest for the development of universities.
Council of Polytechnics and Schools of Professional Higher Education
The Council of Polytechnics and Schools of Professional Higher Education includes deans of all polytechnics and schools of professional higher education in Croatia. The Council handles the matters of common interest for the development of schools of professional higher education and polytechnics in Croatia.
